JUST TRUST GOD
Finding Stability in a Shifting World
Hello and Welcome to a new month and a special new journey with Trust The King Bible Study!
My name is Tony Jackson and I am the founder and CEO of TRUST THE KING.
Thank you for taking this biblical journey with us....
I am thrilled to launch our new series of Trust The King Bible Study emails. A weekly dose of faith and encouragement delivered straight to you.
We believe that true strength and peace come from a deep relationship with God. That's why each week, we'll be providing a special Bible study designed to help you practically apply scripture to your everyday life.
For the month of August, our theme is a timeless truth that feels more relevant today than ever: JUST TRUST GOD.
In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, finding an unshakable foundation is everything. This month, we'll explore what it means to truly place our trust in God—not just in words, but in our actions and hearts.
This week, we're laying the foundation with the powerful and foundational words of Proverbs 3:5-6. Let’s dive in.

Bible Study: Week 1
"The Foundation of Trust"
Scripture Focus:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Introduction:
Have you ever felt the weight of having to figure it all out? The pressure to have a perfect plan, to control every outcome, can leave us feeling anxious and exhausted. Proverbs 3:5-6 offers a liberating alternative: a call to release that burden and place our full trust in God's perfect plan. It's an invitation to stop striving and start surrendering.
Breaking Down the Verses:
1. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart":
This is about wholehearted trust—not a partial belief, but a complete reliance on God in every area of life. It’s an act of faith that moves from our head to our heart.
Question for Reflection: Is there a specific area of your life—maybe your career, a relationship, or a future plan—where you find it hardest to give God your whole heart?
2. "and lean not on your own understanding":
This is often the most challenging part. Our natural inclination is to rely on logic, experience, and what makes sense to us. But God’s wisdom is far beyond our own (Isaiah 55:8-9). Leaning on our own understanding can often limit us from seeing God’s greater plan at work.
Question for Reflection: Can you recall a time when your own "understanding" led you down a frustrating path? What might have been different if you had surrendered to God's guidance instead?
3. "in all your ways submit to him":
The phrase "in all your ways" is a comprehensive command. It means inviting God into the small daily decisions as much as the monumental life choices. Submission here isn't passive resignation; it's active obedience born from a place of trust.
Question for Reflection: What is one small, everyday way you can intentionally submit your plans to God this week?
4. "and he will make your paths straight.":
This is the beautiful promise that follows. "Straight paths" means God will provide clarity and direction, ensuring you are aligned with His will. This doesn't mean a life without challenges, but a life where God is your constant guide through them.
Question for Reflection: What would it feel like to walk with the deep confidence that God is actively directing your path?
Application for the Week:
This week, whenever you feel yourself trying to control a situation, pause and intentionally release it to God. Use this simple prayer: "Lord, I trust You with this. I will not lean on my own understanding, but on Yours." Observe how this small shift in perspective can bring a profound sense of peace.
What's Next? Next week, we'll continue our series by exploring the practical side of "leaning not on your own understanding."
Until then, may you find peace in the promise that you can
Just Trust God.
Blessings,
The Trust The King Team
