Hello TRUST TRIBE! Welcome back to week 3 of our November series. In the first two weeks we established the blessedness of “TRUSTING THE LORD” (Jeremiah 17:7) and the confidence required for “BOLD FAITH” (Hebrews 11:1). This week, we are taking on the posture of “MAKING GOD PROUD” (Colossians 3:23). The truth is, our dedication - no matter the job, task, assignment, or responsibility, we must do it with our whole heart. Whatever you do, give it your best. Not because people are watching, but because God is watching. Your life and work becomes worship when your motive is to honor Him.
MAKE GOD PROUD: “Work as Worship" Scripture Focus: Colossians 3:23 (NIV) - "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." |

Breaking Down the Verse:
1. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart":• This sets the standard for our effort and wholeheartedness. It's a call to excellence in all areas — and not just the "spiritual" ones. The level of care and quality we bring to every task should reflect the honor we have for the God we serve. “Changing our mindsets" with the focus on Jesus, is a sure way to get the best results in everything we do. When we make God our “why”, our work and daily tasks become our offering- back to Him. God desires for us to do our best and be faithful with all He has given us. When we do things with all our heart unto God, His glory can shine through our obedience.
2. "as working for the Lord, not for human masters.":• This is the great perspective shift. Knowing that God is the recipient of our work, it changes everything. It protects us from human disappointment and keeps us motivated even when our efforts go unnoticed by others. Our primary audience and focus should always be on the King. People may overlook you, underappreciate you, or misunderstand you- but God sees and knows all. So instead of letting people’s opinions, behavior, pressure or expectations control your effort, choose to work with excellence anyway, because you're doing it for God’s approval, not theirs. And when you're faced with adversity- stay focused, stay humble, stay faithful, and sometimes you may have to stay quiet, knowing that God rewards what other people can’t hear or see.
MY PERSONAL TESTIMONY: When I look back over my life, I can’t help but see how good God has been to me. In every season, He’s been there— the good, the bad, and the in-between. God has kept me, carried me, corrected me, and covered me in ways I didn’t even understand at the time. And because of that, I live every day now, with one simple desire: to MAKE GOD PROUD.
It’s not about perfection. It’s not about trying to earn His love — He already gave me that freely. It’s about gratitude. It’s about thankfulness and it’s about honor. It’s about wanting my life to reflect the God who died on the cross to save me and forgive me time and time again. Every decision I make, every act of kindness, every moment I choose faith over fear, it’s my way of saying, “Lord, I thank You. I see what You’ve done for me, and I want my life to show it.” (Matthew 5:16) reads: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”.
I want God to look at me and see a man who works hard. A man who keeps going. A man who trusts Him even when the road doesn’t make sense. I want Him to know that I’m using what He gave me — the gifts, the purpose, the calling — not to impress people, but to please Him.
That’s why I love to make God proud. Because after all He’s done for me, it’s the least I can give back with all my heart— a life of gratefulness that points right back to Him.
And finally, I had to learn how to block out the “human masters”. They could be your neighbors, co-workers, friends and even family who try to control, manipulate, or shape your thinking. Their voices can push you away from who God called you to be. People’s opinions change, their motives shift, and their expectations can trap us. But don’t forget, God’s way is pure and full of truth. In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes unto the Father, but by me”. When you let Jesus lead your heart, your mind and your spirit, your steps become clearer, your peace becomes sweeter, and your purpose becomes stronger. Only God deserves that level of influence- because God will lead you right- every time. So don’t forget, TRUST THE KING, no matter what.
